Danielle Jade Devereaux - Head of Contemporary
I have over 15 years of dance experience; as both a professional artist and as a teacher.
As a child, I studied dance, performed in shows and competitions, worked through my BATD grades, as well as working with Live Nation Stage Experience and performing in professional productions. At 18, I had an offer to go to LIPA (Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts) but instead I chose to relocate to California after my successful audition to join the world renowned organisation “The Young Americans”. In California I trained intensely for a year with the top professionals in the industry.
I took professional classes across all areas of performance, as well as classes in teaching methods, psychology and business. I also worked and taught in juvenile detention centres in the SoCal area. I then participated 9 international music outreach tours with The Young Americans, over 4 years. I travelled to and taught in over 20 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, Estonia, The Netherlands, all across Europe as well as over to Japan; leading music outreach workshops to children from 4 years old, to adults in top businesses, to grandmas of over 80 years old. I brought music, hope, dance and inspiration to thousands of kids during my time. The experiences were invaluable! I also had the opportunity to Business Manage and Company Manage The Young American’s international tours. After attaining my Teacher Training Certificate and degree with The Young Americans, I received a job offer to teach at a top dance studio in the MidWest USA.
Since being back in the UK, I am pursuing my passion of teaching! I currently teach multiple dance disciplines for studios in the North East.
